Celebrating a Milestone: CBX Welcomes Its 20 Millionth Passenger!
A remarkable testament to the enduring success of the Cross Border Xpress (CBX), the binational pedestrian 390-long bridge that directly connects San Diego with the Tijuana Airport (TIJ) welcomes its 20 millionth passenger. This bridge has not only simplified the border experience for countless travelers from the U.S. and Mexico but also stands as a symbol of unity and cooperation between these neighboring nations.
In 2022, CBX recorded an average daily passenger count of 10,600 and ended the year with 4.2 million passengers, illustrating its pivotal role in facilitating international travel.
In the past trimester, CBX has experienced an impressive surge in passenger numbers, with an average of 1,170,000 travelers recorded. As the year progresses, it is anticipated this trend will culminate in nearly 4.5 million passengers, underlining CBX's ever-increasing popularity and efficiency as the gateway to international adventures.
To commemorate this achievement, CBX received their 20 millionth passenger with mariachi and gifted them with passes to different themed parks in San Diego. They also celebrated with distinguished guests such as Todd Gloria, Mayor of San Diego and CBX CEO Jorge Goytortua.
This milestone marks a testament to our commitment to redefine travel convenience and strengthen cross-border connections. To all passengers, thank you for being part of CBX’s remarkable journey!
